Question about whether or not to use SSL in PostgreSQL

My backend consists of Beego, pgx and PostgreSQL, the client communicates with Beego via SSL and its requests are validated using pgx which communicates with PostgreSQL, that is the client never communicates directly with the database, so my question is, should I encrypt the communication between pgx and PostgreSQL with SSL or it is not necessary?
In short PostgreSQL is in an online environment but the requests it receives is always local.
